Jakarta –
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hopes that all distribution of people’s business loans (WHERE) can be done without collateral (guarantee). The number one person in Indonesia pushed directly to the minister concerned, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia (BI).
“I am still pushing the minister, the OJK, and BI so that if possible, the KUR credit business is without collateral,” Jokowi said at the opening of the XVIII HIPMI National Working Meeting at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Thursday (31/8/2023).
Jokowi considered that a credit scoring system should have been implemented for channeling financing to MSMEs. The reason is 145 countries have used the system.
“You should use a credit scoring system, it should be like that, because already 145 countries for MSMEs use a credit scoring system, looking at the score, looking at the good character or not, give IDR 500 million, give IDR 300 million, give IDR 100 million, it should be like that ,” he said.
With all KUR without collateral, it is believed that it will provide opportunities for MSME actors to obtain financing, especially for those who are just starting out.
“Because young entrepreneurs who have just left to enter the business world usually don’t have assets, don’t have collateral, don’t have collateral. So if opportunities are given with a credit scoring system, it will make it easier and I will continue to encourage this,” he said.
Jokowi said this year’s KUR allocation reached IDR 460 trillion with an interest rate of 6% and a maximum loan of IDR 500 million. He wants all of the existing budget to be distributed.
“This IDR 460 trillion quota must be used up, don’t have anything left because the interest is only 6%, but it’s really only for MSMEs,” said Jokowi.
