Yamaha RX-King Successfully Passes Emission Test in Jakarta

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The emission test rules that have been put into effect by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government have made 2-stroke motorbike owners pessimistic. Because with the billowing smoke, it is believed that a 2-stroke motorbike is difficult to pass the emission test.

But it turns out that there is a Yamaha RX-King that has successfully passed the emission test. the owner is Dedy Limanto with the 2005 RX-King motorbike, which conducted an emission test at an official workshop on Tuesday (29/8/2023).

Dedy first shared this story on Facebook in the Yamaha RX-King Indonesia (YRKI) group. Suddenly the post was immediately crowded because there are 2-stroke motorbikes that use side oil that can pass the emission test.

“This is my daily motorbike for going to work and home, even though I have a spare motorbike sometimes I change it, namely Nmax to change. One week I change,” said Dedy to Kompas.com, Friday (1/9/2023).

Dedy said he was interested in the emission test because he saw mixed news about 2-stroke motorbikes. Apart from that, he really wanted to know how many levels of pollutants his motorbike produced.

“At first, I thought that when this regulation was issued, it was normal for just a few days, but how come it was always being discussed. Moreover, I used the RX-King, which was considered a bully. Like it or not, I didn’t want to use it or was given a ticket. I tried it when I wanted to take an emissions test. RX-King,” he said.

Dedy then opened an emission test site in Jakarta, then was directed to the official AHASS Honda workshop. Apparently the Honda workshop accepts special emission tests for motorcycles with all motorcycle brands.

“I got an AHASS in Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, a repair shop as well as a showroom. I asked (by phone) if I could test emissions even though my motorbike was an RX-King. I was quick because on the 1st (September) there will be an official ticket,” said Dedy.

Dedy then came to AHASS and conducted an emission test. Unexpectedly, after the exhaust gas test was carried out, the motorbike passed the emission test.
