Bayern Munich snatched a 2-1 victory over Borussia Moenchengladbach. Had left earlier, Die Roten comeback thanks to goals from Leroy Sane and Mathys Tel.
Moenchengladbach vs Bayern will be presented at Borussia Park in the follow-up match German League, Saturday (2/9). The visitors appeared dominant from the start of the game.
Thomas Mueller had a chance in the 13th minute. However, his efforts were still weak so that they were easily secured by Moritz Nicolas.
It was Gladbach who was able to open the scoring first in the 30th minute. The goal came from an Alassane Plea corner kick.
The ball sent by Plea can be headed by Maximilian Wober. Ko Itakura then turned it into a goal with a header.
The 1-0 score for Gladbach’s advantage lasted until halftime.
Bayern, who were left behind, did not relax their attacks in pursuit of an equalizing goal. Die Roten had a golden opportunity in the 54th minute.
Leon Goretzka took advantage of Nicolas’ mistake to head the ball towards goal. Gladbach survived conceding after Ko Itakura successfully cleared the ball across the goal line.
Continuing to attack, the equalizer for Bayern finally arrived in the 58th minute. Joshua Kimmich’s pass reached Leroy Sane who stabbed on the left side of the penalty box.
Sane can calmly beat Nicolas. The score changed to a 1-1 draw.
Bayern almost took the lead back in the 70th minute. However, Serge Gnabry’s shot was still too weak to be easily saved by Nicolas.
Bayern’s second goal actually came in the 87th minute. Kimmich is again the creator of the Die Bavaria goal.
Mathys Tel’s corner kick was headed to beat Nicolas. Bayern turned 2-1 ahead.
Bayern can maintain a 2-1 lead until the game is over. This victory brought them to second place with nine points.
Bayern’s points are equal to Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the standings. However, they lost on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Gladbach is in 15th position. They’ve only scored one point.
