Vienna – On Friday, police officers found a body in an apartment in Vienna-Neubau under the bed of an apartment in Vienna-Neubau. According to a police broadcast, the body was autopsied in the afternoon. Due to the postmortem change, however, no cause of death could be determined.
Accordingly, it could not be ruled out that the death could have been caused by third-party negligence. The forensic medicine did not find any signs of violence from a blunt or sharp object on the already badly decomposed corpse. However, the location was “very unusual”, according to police spokesman Markus Dittrich WHAT said.
The fact that the body found by the police was classified as a “suspicious death” was also due to the fact that a window in the ground floor apartment was open. There were no indications of a burglary for the time being. “The apartment was not ransacked,” said Dittrich.
The apartment was further investigated by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office. An evaluation of any traces should bring clarity. There is a presumption that the deceased is the 83-year-old resident of the apartment. Neighbors called the police because of the unpleasant odor. (WHAT)
