Jakarta –
PKS claims to respect the Democrats’ step in withdrawing support for Anies Baswedan. PKS also claimed to understand the position of the Democrats who withdrew from the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) after the Anies-Cak Imin duet was revealed.
“We understand, we also respect the decision of the Democratic Party to leave the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) and withdraw support for Anies Baswedan’s candidacy as presidential candidate for 2024,” said PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu in Jakarta, Saturday (2/9/2023).
Syaikhu admits that he still hopes that the Democrats can form a coalition to support Anies. He said PKS is still supporting Anies.
“Actually, yes, we still really hope that the Democratic Party will be able to remain in the Coalition for Change and carry it Anies Baswedan as vice president of RI,” he said.
Previously, the Democrats officially withdrew support from Anies. The Democrats also left the KPP after the Anies-Cak Imin duet was uncovered.
