Arts in the Spotlight: New York University Abu Dhabi’s Ninth Season Begins

The activities of its ninth season began at the Arts Center at New York University Abu Dhabi under the slogan “Arts in the Spotlight”, which includes performances, dialogue sessions and workshops with the participation of elite international and local talents. The series of performances began yesterday with the inaugural event: “Now is when we are (The Stars)”, written by Andrew Schneider, in which thousands of interactive lights and hundreds of speakers are used to simulate an interactive theatrical universe in a unique experience. Two versions of the work will be presented: the first is a narrative version that is shown in front of eight people in the audience at a time, and the second is an installation version that is shown in front of up to 40 people. The show will be held until the third Sunday of September, and from Tuesday to Sunday, September 10. The Arts Center will also host the screening of “The Music of the Koyansgatsi Film” on Wednesday, October 5, a cinematic event that includes a screening of the pioneering film by Godfrey Reggio and the film’s music created by Philip Glass.
