Patricia Bullrich promised to be “the most austere president in history”: More than Milei?

The PASO 2023 elections have made it clear that the general elections on October 22 have three great candidates who are fighting for the Presidency of the Nation Javier Milei, Sergio Massa y Patricia Bullrich They occupy the first places and the surveys indicate that it will be a close election that could even go to the second round, which means that the campaigns must be sharpened and reach every corner of the country with the promise of reducing public spending.

At least that is the promise of the three leaders but in the case of the representative of Together for Change, she announced that it will be “the most austere president in the history of Argentina» in case it prevails in the elections. However, the one who has spent the least so far is the leader of La Libertad Avanza who used less state money than the rest of the lists.

«We need a Together for Change where power does not change us, we have to be ordinary citizens and continue touring our towns, working as always, with total and absolute austerity. Together for Change, throughout the country, is the only force that can change the terrible situation of anguish that Argentines are experiencing,” added Patricia Bullrich, according to NA.

In this same sense, he acknowledged: «We were the government, we had failures, we recognize them, we do not put them under the rug. But we learned and on that we have built. We have the decision to generate a deep and true change, with a team that is going to wage a cultural battle against Kirchnerism that wants to stay in power forever. That is why we have to work together for the national, provincial and municipal project”, he added.

Finally, he gave a former president of the Nation of radical origins as an example of what he would like for his space: «I remember (Arturo) Illia, a president who went with his briefcase and continued working as a doctor. Austerity has to be for everyone, councilors, mayors, legislators, legislatures and austere ministries. Because what people feel is that they have only been giving and giving, all so that a political bureaucracy grows and their capacity for consumption, well-being and progress decreases”, he pointed out.

Is it really austere?

Presidential campaigns are a true reflection of how austere each candidate is and in the case of Patricia Bullrich it shows that between July and August she spent more than 45 million pesos on Meta’s social networks (Facebook and Instagram) for advertising. Although this does not mean that he cannot reduce state spending, his promises are far from those of Javier Milei, who in addition to being one of those who spent the least, promises a “chainsaw plan” more severe than that of the macrista official .
