The Argentinian actress Silvina Luna (43) died on Thursday this week as a result of long-term complications after a buttock lift in 2011.
This is confirmed by her spokesperson Fernando Burlando to local media in Argentina, including Buenos Aires Herald.
Luna carried out a so-called “Brazilian butt lift” in 2011, but afterwards experienced major health challenges.

On Thursday this week, her brother Ezequiel Luna chose to disconnect her from the ventilator, according to local media.
Luna has been in hospital in Buenos Aires for the past four months, where she has received treatment for, among other things, kidney disease.
Spokesperson Fernando Burlando describes the death as a tragic loss, and says that the 43-year-old fought for his life.
– This is an ending like pain and wounds. I hope that her fight will be a wake-up call for the authorities, so that society will open its eyes and we will avoid more deaths, he says in a statement.
The surgeon who carried out the operation has been convicted of wrongful treatment of another woman who went through a similar operation, and who later died, according to the Buenos Aires Herald.
He is no longer allowed to practice as a surgeon, but has not yet been imprisoned.

Silvina Luna became a familiar face when she participated in the Argentine edition of the scandalous reality show “Big Brother” in 2001.
She later trained as an actress, and was seen in a number of film and theater productions. She has also worked as a TV host.
