Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, September 1. On August 30, President Xi Jinping sent a message to Emmerson Mnangagwa to congratulate him on his re-election as President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Zimbabwe have a traditional friendship. In recent years, under our joint leadership, the political mutual trust between the two countries has continued to deepen, practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results, and we have firmly supported each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests and major concerns. I attach great importance to the development of China-Zimbabwe relations, and I am willing to work with President Mnangagwa to promote new progress in the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries and safeguard international fairness and justice and the common interests of developing countries.
