Libreville, Thursday August 31, 2023 (Gabon Info) – The senior officer will be sworn in as president of the transition on September 4, 2023 during a solemn audience organized at the Libreville Seaside Palace before the Constitutional Court.
After the meeting held on August 31, 2023, the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) announced a series of measures. These include the swearing in of General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema on Monday September 4, 2023 as president of the transition. The ceremony will be held during a solemn audience held at the Presidential Palace before the Constitutional Court which is temporarily rehabilitated. The military also announced the gradual establishment of transitional institutions.
On the occasion, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema also instructed all secretaries general, ministerial cabinets, directors general and all heads of state services to ensure the effective resumption of work and the continuity of operation of all public services immediately.
According to Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi, spokesman for the CTRI, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema “wishes to reassure all donors, development partners and creditors of the State that all provisions will be taken in order to guarantee the respect of our country’s commitments, both externally and internally”. It was also announced the reopening of Gabonese airspace to domestic flights.
