The lieutenant colonel of the National Security Service, Boris Ivanov, and Ivo Maslarov, returned through Interpol, have been handed over to court by the military prosecutor’s office for the shooting of business lady Stanka Marangozova in Sofia. This is clear from an official announcement of the state prosecution. They are accused as instigators and helpers, and Petar Kostov goes to court together with them as a direct perpetrator.
The indictment was filed in the Sofia Military Court. This is the second attempt to open this case, after a year and eight months ago, military judges returned it to the state prosecution because of numerous omissions. At that time, Maslarov had not yet been returned by Interpol.

After the murder, the accused Ivo Maslarov left the borders of the country and hid from the authorities of the pre-trial proceedings, first in the Swiss Confederation and later in the Federal Republic of Germany, the prosecutor’s office said. Pursuant to the European Arrest Warrant issued by the Military District Prosecutor’s Office-Sofia, his location was established and on 05.10.2022 he was extradited to us. According to Maslarov, he turned himself in to the police in the Berlin subway.

The Sofia Military Court is about to schedule a hearing to consider the case.
