As of today, banks are obliged to provide free services on accounts for salaries, pensions and social payments, but only through ATMs of the servicing bank, BNR reported. This became possible with the changes voted with the Budget Law for this year.
Other changes oblige employers with more than 100 employees to pay back wages.
People with income from work, pensions, scholarships and social payments will be able to open a special payment account for tax-free services such as depositing money into the account, withdrawing cash from a counter or from an ATM, but only at the servicing bank.
The other conditions are that the customers use only one payment account for the main money transactions, and that they do not have another payment account in the bank through which they use the payment services.
At the same time, employers with more than 100 employees will pay salaries by bank transfer.
The banks claim that they are ready to work according to the rules prescribed by the Ministry of Finance.
