Spartak Trnava, like Slovan Bratislava, will play in the group stage of the European Conference League.
Spartak managed a rematch against Ukrainian Dnipro, winning the rematch in Košice 2:1 after extra time.
Spartak and Slovan will meet their opponents in the EKL groups in Friday’s draw. It is on the program at 2:30 p.m. Monaco time.

Erik Daniel, the scorer of Spartak’s first goal: “It was a difficult match, we deserved the victory. We went for blood, there were huge emotions. I like these kinds of matches. I felt like it, I played well. I scored a goal, but I also had another opportunity. We could have scored more goals, it didn’t have to be so dramatic. The fans have been amazing, I thank them for that, I think we have repaid them.”
Michal Gašparík, coach of Spartak: “I’m tired, but I feel great happiness and satisfaction for the ant robot. We managed another overtime. We all believed that we would succeed, there was not a single person who did not believe in the progress. We believed that the one chance that we would not go to the shootout would come in extra time, and it happened. We felt the energy from the point of view, the atmosphere was like home, the people of Košice were also cheering for us, you could feel them. They got a beautiful evening of football.”
Trnava had an ideal start to the match when they took the lead in the 3rd minute. After winning a corner kick in their own half, they went on a quick counter-attack, Mikovič found Daniel with a cross, who stuck a defender and beat goalkeeper Kinarejkin from close range.
The players of Spartak were offensively more dangerous than the opponent in the first half and in the 28th minute they were close to the second goal. Bainović’s long cross was handled by Mikovič, but the goalkeeper of Dnipro wasted his chance. The situation in the 44th minute did not bring the second goal either, when Ofori moved the ball to Daniel on the edge of the penalty area, who hit the right post with a ground shot.

The players of Dnipro already had more possession of the ball in the first half and presented themselves in the same way even after the change of sides. For a long time, Spartak managed to disrupt the opponent’s offensive actions in their infancy, but they conceded after an hour of play.
The defender Gorosito, in an attempt to turn away the centered ball, beat his own goalkeeper with his head – 1:1. In the 76th minute, Daniel could have restored the lead to Trnava, who created space in the penalty area, but goalkeeper Kinarejkin was able to block his shot.
The duel went to extra time at 1:1. Trnava had a numerical advantage from the 98th minute, when Babenko received a red card for a foul on Ofori. The decisive goal of the double match came in the 106th minute. In it, Mikovič looked for Paura with a cross, who had not yet scored, but Bukata sent the ball into the goal from close range. Dnipro’s chances for a successful result decreased even more in the 108th minute, when Gorin received a red after the second yellow card.
Seven minutes later, however, they were not far from a penalty kick, when VAR judged Štetin’s intervention as illegal. The players of Spartak already kept the result and after the final whistle they could rejoice at the progress.
