The English rock group “Duran Duran” will release a new album in the mood of Halloween “Danse Macabre” on October 27, the representatives of the group said.
The album will include three completely new compositions, new versions of lesser-known compositions from the band’s catalog, as well as cover versions of songs by other artists.
“Danse Macabre” will be the band’s 16th studio album.
According to the band’s musicians, the idea for the album came from a concert last year on Halloween in Las Vegas, which was notable for several rarities and cover versions of the band’s catalog.
“Danse Macabre” also includes cover versions of Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Specials, as well as Billie Eilish’s works, among others, which fits well with the Halloween mood of the album.
Guest artists on the new album include Nile Rodgers, Måneskin’s Victoria DeAngelis, as well as ex-Duran Duran members Andy Taylor and Warren Cucurullo.
The title song of the new album “‘Danse Macabre” has already been published on Spotify, YouTube and other web platforms.
“‘Danse Macabre’ celebrates the joy and craziness of Halloween,” NME quoted the band’s keyboardist Nick Rhodes as saying.
“We decided to capture the moment and create a unique, special event,” Rhodes said of the inspiration for the new album.
“The temptation to use the great gothic visuals to create dark music of horror and humor was simply irresistible,” admitted the Duran Duran musician.
