An era is gone! Right before our eyes, the American divisions of the Stellantis alliance are one by one abandoning their brutal cars with giant V8 engines: very soon the last Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger petrol muscle cars will roll off the assembly line, which will be replaced by the production version of the Dodge Charger Daytona electric concept car SRT and now sister brand Ram have announced the imminent end of production of the Ram 1500 TRX pickups with Hemi V8 6.2 compressor motors.
On this occasion, the company presented a farewell version of the Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition. The circulation of the series will be four thousand copies, and these cars will differ only in small details. In terms of technology, nothing new: under the hood is the same supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8, which produces 712 hp. and 881 Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic ZF. The Ram 1500 TRX pickup takes just 4.5 seconds to accelerate to 60 mph (97 km/h), and accelerates to 100 mph (161 km/h) in 10.5 seconds. Top speed is limited to 190 km/h.
The body color palette for the TRX Final Edition pickup truck will include three shades: Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue and Harvest Sunrise Orange. Of the external features – wheels with beadlocks, stickers with the name of the model on the sides of the loading platform and nameplates indicating the engine size on the hood.
Inside, the farewell version will be identifiable by special contrast stitching, seat upholstery with TRX logos, revised graphics on the dashboard screen and a serial number plate on the center armrest, indicating that it belongs to the final series of four thousand cars. Also, the interior is decorated with carbon fiber inserts, and the door panels are upholstered in Alcantara.
Among other things, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a head-up display, a digital screen interior rear-view mirror, eight-way power front seats, adaptive cruise control with lane keeping functions and automatic emergency braking (including in front of pedestrians), blind spot monitoring system, as well as ParkSense parking assistant.
Prices for cars from the farewell Final Edition batch have already been announced – for one of the latest Ram 1500 TRX pickups in the USA, you will have to pay as much as 120 thousand dollars, that is, about 11.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate. After the resignation of the TRX modification, the company will continue to produce standard Ram 1500 pickups.
