Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – A post by the Saudi Al-Ahly Club raised questions among activists on social media, after it exceeded one billion views within about 4 days of its publication.
The post was published by Al-Ahly Club on its page on the X platform (formerly Twitter) on the 26th of August, in which it said: “The Jewel of Spain, he will stand chanting the anthem,” announcing the inclusion of the player Gabri Vega in the ranks of the team, with a contract extending for three seasons until the end of the 2025/2026 season. Coming from the Spanish club Celta Vigo.
The average Spanish fielder had grown up with Celta Vigo, and played 56 matches with the first team, during which he scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists.
This is the eighth deal for Al-Ahly Jeddah club during the current summer transfer market, as it previously signed with Edouard Mendy, Merih Demiral, Roger Ibanez, Frank Kessier, Roberto Firmino, Riyadh Mahrez and Alan Saint-Maximin.
