Time for the third generation
Garmin presents a new generation in its Venu series with amoled screen, receive calls on the wrist, and up to 14 days of battery life.
The smartwatch is available in two models – Venu 3 which has a size of 45 millimeters, and the smaller Venu 3S (where the S stands for “small”) which has a size of 41 millimeters. They also have two different font sizes so that the user can choose either large text or a lot of text on the screen.
The screen on the Venu 3 measures 1.4 inches and is an amoled touchscreen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with a resolution of 454×454 pixels. As a smart watch, the battery lasts up to 14 days.
Many of the features in the Venu 3 revolve around health and exercise with Garmin’s usual extensive range of exercise functions and health monitoring. Among the health-related news is a sleep coach that monitors and can give suggestions on how to behave in order to sleep better. This includes that it can also detect naps and include them in the calculations. A morning report gives you an overview of your sleep, recovery needs, HRV status and more when you wake up in the morning, and can also suggest workouts tailored to the user.
One of the bigger but more niche news among the training functions is the introduction of a wheelchair mode that, among other things, records daily wheelchair driving with wheelchair-specific sports apps and workouts, notifications about changing weight distribution and more.
Other features include the ability to pay wirelessly with Garmin Pay, a built-in microphone and speaker to be able to handle mobile calls directly on the wrist, and that the watch works with both Android and Ios.
Garmin Venu 3 and Venu 3S are available now with a price tag of 6049 kroner up to 6649 kroner depending on the model.
