I decided Sony raised the annual prices to collect the three plans for the PlayStation Plus service by the sixth of September, and this comes two months after Microsoft revealed its plans to increase the prices of Game Pass subscriptions.
The basic subscription costs $80 per year, up from $60, the add-on plan goes up by $35 to $135 per year, while the premium plan costs an additional $40 to $160 per year.
Pricing changes will not apply to existing PlayStation Plus users on the Annual Plan until the next renewal date on or after November 6th.
And if you make any changes to your plan between September 6th and thereafter, such as changing tiers, the new price will apply to you.
Sony has not announced changes to the monthly subscription of ten dollars for the basic edition, fifteen dollars for the add-on, and eighteen dollars for the premium subscription) or the quarterly subscription ($ twenty-five for the basic edition, forty dollars for the add-on, and fifty dollars for the premium subscription).

While the offerings are somewhat different, it’s worth noting that PlayStation Plus is generally less expensive than equivalent levels within Xbox Game Pass.
The annual PlayStation Plus basic plan costs $52 less than the equivalent Xbox Game Pass plan, while the PlayStation Plus annual premium plan costs $44 less than the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan over the same time frame.
However, Microsoft offers access to all of its games upon release via Xbox Game Pass, an offer Sony can’t match.
