Al-Marsad Newspaper: A video clip circulating on social media documented how an Egyptian Nubian student celebrated her graduation from the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University in Egypt.
The video showed a Nubian student, Shaden Mustafa, dancing on one of the Nubian heritage songs, as she was summoned to go up to the stage and receive her graduation certificate. Meanwhile, the sounds of music rose and the young woman began to sway amid the applause of her colleagues.
Shaden commented on the circulating clip during her intervention on the “DMC” channel, saying: “I was not ready for what I presented on the graduation stage, and I wanted to be honored in my graduation in a different way that leaves a good memory between me and my colleagues, especially because I am Nubian.”
And she added: “What my friends saw was very spontaneous, and suddenly, when I was returning home, my friends surprised me that the video was widely spread and welcomed on social networking sites, and it was in a negative part of the comments, and there is no one who always agrees on a specific personality, and I read sweet comments, including I am a very delicious and very cheerful person, Some people asked me why I don’t post videos on social media.”
And she continued, “There are some negative comments, and I don’t blame them for freedom of expression.
