For the last time, she came to say goodbye to the co-founder of the band Elán Vašu Patejdl, in addition to her relatives, the most famous names in show business. In addition to the group’s frontman and great friend Jož Ráž, there are, for example, Petr Janda, Heidi Janků and Sisa Sklovská. Felix Slováček came without Dáda Patrasová, accompanied by a mysterious blonde.
The last farewell to one of the biggest legends of Czech-Slovak pop music, Vashem Patejdl, took place in the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Strahov.
The public also had the opportunity to say goodbye to him. The basilica itself has a limited capacity, but fans could also watch the ceremony from outside. There were large screens in front of the church.
Elán members Jožo Ráž and Ján Baláž came to the basilica to say goodbye to Patejdl, singer Heidi Janků or Petr Janda, actress Bára Kodetová with her husband Pavel Šporcel and tennis player Dominika Cibulková also arrived. Former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš also arrived, covering his teary eyes with black glasses.
Felix Slováček was at the funeral without his wife Dáda Patrasová, but he was accompanied by a mysterious blonde.
“I like all his songs. The fountain is completely clear, but he was a completely brilliant hitmaker. Not only Slovak, but also abroad,” said singer Sisa Sklovská.
A funeral lunch was also held near the church. The family chose the monastery brewery Svatý Norbert for this part of the day. However, this event was purely private.
“The grounds of the Strahov Monastery will be available for fans and the public, where a live broadcast of the funeral service will be provided. The capacity of the basilica is limited,” the family explained on the social network.
Those who will not be able to say goodbye to the legendary musician will have the opportunity to write in the condolence book, which will be moved to the Kalich Theater after the funeral ceremony. In the theater that Vašo Patejdl loved, it will be available for nine days, from September 1 to 9.
Patejdl died on August 19 just two weeks after doctors diagnosed him with aggressive pancreatic cancer. He was 68 years old.
Vašo Patejdl made his mark in history primarily through his work in the band Elán, which he helped to found. He composed a number of hits for the legendary group, such as Water that keeps me above water, Mláďatá or Neglected Sex. Singer Richard Müller owes the hit Po schodoch to him, and he also composed the music for the film series Fountain for Zuzana.
