The Syndicate of Musical Professions in Egypt, headed by the artist Mostafa Kamel, decided to suspend the artist Omar Kamal and the festival performer, Hamo Beka, from working for a week, starting from next September 3, and fining each of them 50 thousand pounds.

The decision comes against the background of the singers presenting a song offensive to women.

The details go back to a few days ago, when the two singers broadcast a song that included distorted words for the lyrics of the song “You are a teacher” and changed its words to “You are rotten”, and other words offensive to women.

Omar Kamal published the video clip, which led to widespread anger on the communication sites, as some considered it an insult to women, and demanded that the singers be referred for investigation after this behavior.

Tariq Mortada, a spokesman for the union, told Al-Arabiya.net that the artist, Mustafa Kamel, the head of the Musical Professions Syndicate, decided after that to refer Hamo Beka and Omar Kamal for investigation, and assigned Dr. Muhammad Abdullah, head of the Investigation and Dispute Resolution Committee, to inform the legal affairs to summon the two immediately.

It is noteworthy that last December, the Syndicate of Musical Professions decided to stop Omar Kamal from singing and refer him for investigation because he did not have a permit to sing abroad.

Also in February of last year, the syndicate decided to suspend Omar Kamal because of the song “Bint Al Jeeran” and refer him for investigation, because the song’s lyrics were deemed inappropriate by the syndicate.
