An earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 3.4 rocked Nabire, Central Papua. The earthquake occurred from a depth of 23 kilometers.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said the earthquake occurred on Wednesday (30/8/2023) at 19.09 WIT.
“Earthquake Mag: 3.4,” wrote BMKG on its Twitter account @BMKG.

The epicenter was at coordinates 3.15 south latitude and 135.20 east longitude. Precisely at 73 kilometers Northwest of Nabire, Papua.
“73 Km Northwest of Nabire-Papua. Depth of 23 km,” added the BMKG.
There have been no reports regarding the impact of the earthquake that occurred. Including whether or not there were damaged buildings and casualties.
“This information prioritizes speed, so the results of data processing are not yet stable and can change along with the completeness of the data,” explained the BMKG.
