Social media platforms circulated a video clip showing a huge dead whale, which was uttered by the sea on the shore of the southern coastal town.
Lebanon witnessed heavy rains on Monday night, affecting all regions of the country, with a noticeable rise in sea waves, in an unprecedented scene during the month of August.
An eyewitness in the town told “Sky News Arabia” that, “Tuesday morning, the people of the town of Kharayeb found the body of the dead whale, which settled on the beach near a restaurant.”
Ali Akoush, a restaurant owner near the place where the whale was found, told Sky News Arabia, “The bad weather caused the whale’s body to reach the beach.”
He continued, “Some thought it was the carcass of a large cow because of its decomposition.”

It is most likely that the cause of the whale’s death was the lack of food and an unsuitable environment for it, as it appeared to have a slender body.
