Road checks will therefore be reinforced on all the roads of the department which support the last summer migrations of holidaymakers. These operations will be done again, as since the end of July when this new method of controlling traffic offenses was tested, with the support of drones. Ideal for seeing without being seen.

The Gironde has recorded 51 people killed since the start of the year. More than half of the victims were vulnerable users: five pedestrians, six cyclists, two on electric scooters and 16 on motorized two-wheelers. “Half of the fatal accidents occurred ‘solo’, without a third party involved: 14 killed in light vehicles, eight on heavy motorcycles, two on mopeds, one on a bicycle”, details the Gironde prefecture by analyzing the statistics accidentology.
