MEXICALI, Baja California, August 28, 2023.- Agents of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) managed to secure various firearms, chargers, and cartridges in the municipality of Mexicali.
With the support of elements of the State Citizen Security Force (FESC), they arrested two people with two long firearms and three short weapons, who were on the outskirts of a building located in the vicinity of the Los Algodones town.
In this place it was presumed that they guarded an arsenal, for which the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) requested an investigation technique, which was released by a judge.
The elements of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), in coordination with the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), found eight long weapons, a grenade launcher attachment, 2,706 cartridges of different calibers, 25 firearm chargers, six ballistic vests, a tactical vest and a vehicle.
The property and the insured were made available to the MPF, which integrates an investigation folder, for crimes stipulated in the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives.
