The fate of the artist’s heir can hardly be called happy.
Philip, the son of Innokenty Smoktunovsky, was born in 1957. The star of the Soviet screen has always dreamed that he would follow in his footsteps. However, Philip’s life was completely different.
So, from childhood, Innokenty prepared his son for the acting profession. He took him to the shooting, talked about the features of the work. And after school, Philip entered the Shchukin school. But the studies turned out to be much more difficult than he expected, so he decided to quit in order to earn the necessary experience already on the set.
At first, Smoktunovsky Sr. actively helped the heir, but once deprived him of his patronage. This decision was a big blow to Philip. To cope with unexpected life changes, he began to abuse alcohol, and after – illegal drugs.
The heir to the famous actor completely abandoned the theater and cinema. He earned money by rare translations of foreign literature, and spent all the money on alcohol. According to the media, Philip often found himself in the police stations of the capital, where he was already known by sight. A year ago, he died at the age of 65 and was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery next to his father.
