The 81st DFB Cup season starts on August 11th this year. The first 30 games of the first round of the cup will be completed by August 14th. Two more duels will be played at the end of the 1st DFB Cup round on September 26th and 27th.

Four matches from the first round of the DFB Cup will be shown live on free TV and in the free live stream this year. Right at the start of the cup round, the duel between Eintracht Braunschweig and FC Schalke 04 is on the program on Friday, August 11 at 8:45 p.m. The duel, like the game between VfL Osnabrück and 1. FC Köln, will be broadcast on free TV on the following Monday, August 14th.
The duel between Preußen Münster and FC Bayern Munich will also be shown live on free TV this year. Bayern are visiting Munster on Tuesday, September 26 at 8:45 p.m.
A day later, at the end of the 1st DFB Cup round, the defending champion starts the competition. RB Leipzig will meet SV Wehen Wiesbaden on September 27th. You can also watch the cup game on Wednesday evening live and in full on free TV.

This year, ARD and ZDF share the rights to the free TV broadcast of the 1st DFB Cup round. The two public broadcasters each showed two games live on free TV and in the free live stream in August and September.
On Friday, August 11, ZDF is showing the duel between Eintracht Braunschweig and FC Schalke 04. ZDF is also broadcasting FC Bayern Munich’s match against Preußen Münster live on free TV.
On Monday, August 14, ARD will be responsible for broadcasting the cup game between VfL Osnabrück and 1. FC Köln. The last duel of the 1st cup round between SV Wehen Wiesbaden and RB Leipzig on September 27th can also be seen live on the first.
Alternatively, you can watch the four matches of the 1st DFB Cup round on Sky on pay TV. This year, Sky is showing all duels in the first round of the cup live on pay TV and in paid live streams.
