Rafael van der Vaart and Ron Jans are very much looking forward to Luka Ivanusec’s performance. The analyst duo showed up on Sunday evening during the Studio Football program of the NOS to have viewed images of Feyenoord’s recent acquisition, which creates high expectations before its debut in De Kuip. “He will be the absolute taste maker”, Van der Vaart assures.
When asked, Jans studied images of the left winger, who made the final switch from Dinamo Zagreb to Feyenoord last week. “This year he really started to score for the first time. He has played at 10, but is now really a left winger. He is so agile, he dribbles in and if you think he is going to shoot he dribbles again.”
“Also shot some great balls into the far corner; very good curve balls”, continues Jans. “Moreover, he has depth in his game. Last season they had Idrissi, who always has a very high return, but this boy has a bit more depth and he is a bit more agile. What I also really like is that he is also on top of things when they don’t have the ball. That also fits in with Arne Slot’s game and in current football.”
Van der Vaart fully agrees with his colleague at the table. “He is a very dangerous player, also very goal-oriented. At the right time he can cut and just give that through ball. In the match against the Netherlands he gave a fantastic cross that resulted in a goal. It is really a great purchase. I also looked at images of him on YouTube, because you want to know a little more. This is going to be the absolute tastemaker,” says the analyst.
