“The Argentine independent film sector still has a genuine commercial projection pending and at its height,” Hernán Mancuso, one of the co-founders of Nave Que Va (NQV), told the press about one of the reasons behind the creation of the platform, already active at www.navequeva.com.ar,

The catalog offers titles by Argentine filmmakers with a long history in the medium who, unlike what happens so often with the great streaming “players”, here have more control over how their own work is seen.

Films by Paula Markovitch, Melisa Aller, Daniela Muttis, Lucas Turturro, Lucía Vasallo, Ernesto Vaca, Juan Baldana, Santiago Charriere, Goyo Anchou, Homero Cirelli, Mariano Goldgrob, Iván Vescovo, Adriana Yurcovich and Enrique Stravon, among others, have been programmed. Later, video clips, concerts, interviews will be added.

Nave Que Va, according to its founder, is a project driven by workers in audiovisual communication, which includes filmmaking, design, the press and web-oriented software development. It was born with the double intention of creating a collaborative work space and a market for a sector of film production that does not always have it, taking advantage of streaming tools.

Always according to Mancuso, it is aimed at all kinds of audiences, but “especially one that seeks an experience beyond entertainment in the cinema.” “The criteria is very broad”, he added, “but always speaking of independent cinema, the one that is in the hands of its own filmmakers”. The launch catalog includes long and short films that range from fiction and documentary to experimental cinema, and will also include content that will be generated by us and that will accompany the contribution of the filmmakers. We started with the idea before the pandemic, when there was not so much platform saturation yet. Now the panorama is somewhat different due to this overstimulation, but Argentine independent cinema still has a genuine commercial projection pending”.
