Singer Iggy Azalea accidentally tore her pants on stage during a performance in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a very conservative country. The authorities then forced her to leave the stage without her being able to finish the concert, to the dismay of her fans.
Midway through a song, while dancing onstage in tight latex pants, Azalea’s pants ripped in the thigh and the singer looked embarrassed. He was then quickly ordered to leave the scene because, according to the Saudi authorities, it is a “violation of the rules of modesty”. “I’m so sorry that I couldn’t finish the show,” the singer wrote to her fans.
In response, many fans wondered why Azalea just didn’t change her pants and carry on with the show. She claimed that was indeed her wish, but that her feminist comments on stage were what caused local authorities to pull her out for good: “I said to the crowd ‘Ladies, let’s make some noise, it’s a world of women!’ And it probably pushed the authorities over the edge,” she wrote in a tweet.

“I just don’t want the fans to be angry or sad because of the show organizers because it was not their decision or mine, but the police who were near the stage.” The rapper left Australia alone for the United States at age 16 to pursue a career in hip-hop. In September 2011, she released her first mixtape, Ignorant Art. In March 2012, rapper TI announced Azalea’s signing to his label Grand Hustle.
