With the motto “The post is to get vaccinated”, the Ministry of Public Health set up an awareness post, in conjunction with the Argentine Society of Vaccinology and Epidemiology (SAVE).
This device was operational in the IV Siglos square, in the city of Salta, where vaccines against pneumonia, flu, COVID-19 and others included in the National Vaccination Calendar were administered.
They also reported what are the symptoms of various respiratory diseases that can be prevented with immunization and who is at risk of contracting them.
Likewise, there were didactic activities, such as the memory game, puzzles, questions and answers, among others. Prizes were awarded to people who answered correctly.
The head of the Immunization Program, Adriana Jure, said that “we have applied more than 300 doses on this day. We know that in Argentina there were more than 60,000 cases of respiratory diseases in the last year and more than 30,000 cases of flu and pneumonia. It is important to know that there are vaccines to prevent them, which reduce severe cases and mortality.”
The professional stressed that it is important that the person has up-to-date vaccinations to prevent respiratory diseases.
He mentioned the flu vaccine, which is an annual dose for health personnel, adults over 65 years of age, people with risk factors, pregnant and postpartum women up to 10 days after discharge from the maternity hospital. In the case of boys and girls between 6 and 24 months, there are two doses, if it is the first time they are vaccinated, with an interval of 4 weeks.
