WhatsApp, which is one of the most popular messaging services in the world, has introduced a new feature, namely support for high-resolution videos (high definition/HD).
The new feature launch is a gradual process. Reported from Between, Sunday (27/8/2023), the good news is that iOS and Android users can look forward to this update.
In this new feature, users can have the option to share videos with a resolution of 720p, an increase from the previous resolution which was only 480p.
To take advantage of it, just select the video you want to share, then tap on the new HD button located at the top of the screen. A dialog box will appear, allowing the user to choose between Standard Quality and HD Quality (480p or 720p).
Apart from that, the update will also display file sizes to help users make a decision.
Just like HD images, all videos shared on the app, including HD videos, are protected with end-to-end encryption. So, you can be sure that user content will remain safe and private.
Gizchina reported, Saturday (26/8/2023), when someone receives an HD video, the user will see a special HD label on the video, indicating improved quality.
As you know, last week WhatsApp introduced support for high-resolution images, a feature that should have been available a long time ago. However, they assure users that HD video support is now here.(ant/ris/iss)
