The emergence of the theory of evolution has led some humans to dream of one day creating the human-chimpanzee hybrid known as a ‘humanzee’. Some of these efforts seem to have started a long time ago.
Russian biologist Lya Ivanovich tried the worst possible method and luckily failed, because he had the idea of modifying monkey semen.
But according to reports over the years, most of which are also dubious, the ‘human’ embryo of the idea was successfully created, even managed to reach pregnancy.
In another report that is more suspicious, as quoted from IFL Science, a human-chimpanzee hybrid was reportedly successfully born in the United States. Later however, the laboratory creatures were euthanized as the scientists involved realized the full impact of what they had done.
It was evolutionary psychologist Gordon Gallup who made this extraordinary claim in 2018. He told the British newspaper The Sun that traces of humanzee creation had existed long ago, namely since the birth of these hybrids at the primate research center in Orange Park, Florida, in the 1920s.
“They inseminated a female chimpanzee with human semen from an undisclosed donor and claimed that not only did the pregnancy occur but that the pregnancy was full term and resulted in a live birth,” Gallup told the paper.
At this point, the scientists in the report started thinking about all the impacts. “In a matter of days, or a few weeks, they start considering morals and ethics, then the hybrid baby is euthanized,” he said.
Gallup, who is also a prominent psychologist, said he was told the story was true by a credible scientist, but declined to name him.
