The U-23 Indonesian national team failed to win and had to settle for the runner up of the 2023 AFF U-23 Cup. After a 0-0 draw in 120 minutes, the Indonesia vs Vietnam duel in the U-23 AFF Cup final went to penalties.
However, Garuda Muda experienced unlucky fate in the penalty shootout. Indonesia lost dramatically 5-6. Goalkeeper Ernando Ari, who managed to save Vietnam’s penalty in the first round, was the only player who failed in the penalty shootout.
The U-23 national team lost to Vietnam and only won runner-up. Failing to win the AFF U-23 Cup made netizens react on social media.
