CAPE TOWN – A tour guide in South Africa recorded an extraordinary incident when a elephant against a crocodile that tries to devour it by biting its tail.
As reported by UPI, Saturday (26/8/2023), Emmanuel Sauti, 53, shared a video of the clash between the two beasts on Sightings media.
“One day, we wanted to return to the camp after the holidays were over. It’s just a normal trip. We didn’t expect to witness such a rare event.”
“While crossing the Luangwa River, we saw clashes in the water between elephants and crocodiles. I have mixed feelings. Elephants fight well and crocodiles don’t back down either,” he said.
According to Sauti, crocodiles often target deer or small fish as a food source. Incidents of crocodiles trying to kill elephants are extremely rare.
“The elephant finally managed to fend off the crocodile and cross the river. It was the happiest moment in my career as a safari guide,” said Sauti.
