Dutch GP free practice – Verstappen is fastest and Alonso is second
Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen was fastest in the first free practice session of the Dutch GP at home, ahead of Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and Mercedes AMG’s Lewis Hamilton. Crash and red flag interrupted.
Verstappen’s fastest lap of 1m 11.852s was achieved in a qualifying simulation with just ten minutes remaining after the FP1 red flag was interrupted, after completing a long-distance race on the hard tyres. Evaluation, and he was also the fastest at the beginning of the stage.

The two Williams drivers Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant performed well, both ran into the top ten, occupying fifth and seventh respectively, interspersed with McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, who ranked sixth and eighth, and there was a gap between the four for about 0.2 seconds.
The other two runners into the top ten are Yuki Tsunoda of the AlphaTauri team and Esteban Ocon of the Alpine team. The gap between them and their previous opponents is only about 0.1 seconds.
