The game not to miss: Team USA – New Zealand
We’re off to Team USA’s first match, probably not the most complicated for Steve Kerr’s players, but the desire to see how this team is doing is very strong. Anthony Edwards seems unplayable, Jalen Brunson, Jaren Jackson Jr. or Brandon Ingram have what it takes under the hood to win a bunch of games this summer, and if the score of this meeting against the Tall Blacks risks pinching, we will take advantage especially of this meeting to assess the form of the Americans and their propensity to be in place in the FIBA context. Their big challenge will be rather Greek during this group stage, but the job starts this afternoon at 2:40 p.m.!
But also….
An interesting match between the Cape Verde of the giant Edy Tavares and Georgia, strong of some solid international sure values (Shengelia, Mamukelashvili…), then the Greeks who will have to capitalize immediately against Jordan in order to prepare their duel against Team USA. Ditto for the Brazilians who have no room for error against Iran before facing Spain later, which opens its competition against the Ivorians of the innkeeper Solo Diabaté. We will also keep an eye on a potential first card from Luka Doncic against Venezuela, as well as on Serbia’s entry into the running against China.
