Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) disclosed the names of 12 former convicts in corruption cases who were registered in the Provisional Candidate List (DCS) legislative candidates (readleg) DPR. Here are the names.
These names were written by ICW in the document file uploaded on their official website, accompanying a written press statement, accessed by detik.com on Friday (25/8/2023). The following are names spilled by ICW:
Names of former Corruption Convicts in DCS DPD and DPR
1. Abdillah, nomination level for DPR RI, NasDem Party, Dapil of North Sumatra I, serial number 5, corruption case in procuring a fire engine and misappropriation of APBD funds
2. Abdullah Puteh, nomination level for DPR RI, NasDem Party, Dapil Aceh II, serial number 1, corruption case in the purchase of 2 helicopters when he was governor of Aceh
3. Susno Duadji, DPR nomination level, PKB, serial number 2, corruption in securing the 2009 West Java regional elections and corruption in the handling of PT Salmah Arowana Lestari
4. Nurdin Halid, DPR nomination level, Golkar Party, Dapil Sulsel II, serial number 2, corruption in the distribution of Bulog cooking oil
5. Rahudman Harahap, candidate for DPR, NasDem Party, Dapil of North Sumatra I, serial number 4, corruption in allowance funds for South Tapanuli village officials when he was Secretary of South Tapanuli
6. Al Amin Nasution, candidate for DPR, PDIP, Dapil Central Java VII, serial number 1, case: receiving bribes from the Secretary of the Bintan Regency Kepri Azirwan to smooth the process of converting protected forest functions in Bintan Regency

ICW itself wants the KPU to announce the names of candidates who are former convicts in corruption cases. ICW reflected on the 2019 Election. At that time, the KPU announced a list of names of candidates with status as former corruption convicts. Now, the KPU does not do it. Thus, the KPU must immediately announce the legal status of the candidates for the people’s representatives.
“The General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia must immediately announce the status of former corruption convicts on the provisional list of candidates for legislative candidates,” he wrote.
