Mineral metamorphoses, the story of a second life
Exposed since August 2, the “Mineral Metamorphoses” exhibition comes to an end this Saturday, August 26, 2023. It is therefore high time to come and discover the latest creations of the ceramist.
Here, unique pieces can be discovered, which have had the right to a second life. When Jean-Pierre Chollet sets out to create a work, it happens that some are unusable. These pieces of works that he could never throw away.
He reused them, put them together to create beauty. He had to break some of them with a hammer to recover the interesting pieces and thus offer them a beautiful revival.
Ceramist, a reconversion
Jean-Pierre Chollet did not start his career as a ceramist. At the time, he was a physicist for the atomic energy commission. In 1975, with his wife, they took a 180 turn.
By settling in Brian-de-Vère, near Bruniquel, he opened his studio and became a ceramic artist in 1987. In the 2000s, his work was recognized internationally.
