A carpet and floor covering shop in Apenrad moves into the former supermarket building. One feature was particularly decisive for the change of location.
If you drive past the former Aldi branch at Tøndervej 5, you will notice that the work is done properly there. Craftsmen are currently working there. But who is going there?
In December last year, Aldi Nord announced that it would close its Danish branches. They wanted to concentrate on the other markets in Europe, so the reasoning at the time. Over the next two months, the stores were evacuated. 114 of the 188 markets were sold to Rema 1000.
Apenrader retailer is preparing for the move
Among the shops that have not been sold is the building on Tøndervej. This has been sold and is currently being refurbished for the new owner. The specialist flooring and carpet store Garant will soon be moving there. So far, the shop has been located on City Hall Street (Rådhusgade).
The move to Tøndervej is scheduled for autumn. There is more space for the goods and, above all, better parking facilities, as Garant managing director Anita Byg told “JydskeVestkysten”. They had been looking for a new location for several years, especially because of the deteriorating parking situation, she added.
The Aldi store on Tøndervej has been bought by a local investor who is now leasing it.
