Despite various obstacles and problems, the Tesla factory in Berlin is operational and the manufacturer is already planning expansion. Typically, Tesla’s factories start slowly and gradually ramp up production as they reach maximum capacity. This was also the case in Berlin, but the latest news shows that there has been a decline in production volumes.
Tesla reported in March this year that the factory was capable of producing around 5,000 cars per week, but volumes have now fallen below that threshold, reports Business Insider German edition. Until now, production in Berlin was believed to continue at around 5,000 machines per week or even more.
“Tesla’s internal production documents and projections suggest lower targets. Internal documents in July and August indicate that around 4,350 cars per week should be produced. This is 650 cars per week less than was announced in the spring,” the media publication said.
Business Insider available information suggests that production targets are being reduced even further, falling even below 4,000 machines per week. The media obtained such information from the factory employees.
