Ronaldinho faces the risk of imprisonment in Brazil for fraud
The retired Brazilian star, Ronaldinho Gaucho, is facing a nightmare in prison again, after he violated the orders of a government body that invited him to appear before it, which is the Brazilian Parliament, and refused to explain and justify the activity of one of his specialized institutions in electronic currencies.
And the Brazilian newspaper “Globo” revealed, on Thursday, that Ronaldinho’s rebellion and refusal to attend the second session allocated to him in the Brazilian parliament would put him at risk of returning to prison for evading interrogation regarding one of his institutions.
The government agency opened an investigation regarding the foundation of the former Spanish club Barcelona star and its reliance on the hierarchical system, since the economic transactions in force in this institution remain suspicious, and may be in violation of the laws of the country.
And the name of his organization, “18 Kay Ronaldinho”, appeared in a list of institutions that provided false figures to the authorities regarding their income, and the victim was dealers who invested every day a value of no less than $ 30 in virtual currency.
And the institution’s work changed from investing in expensive watches and jewelry to electronic currencies, so that all these details put the Brazilian football legend in the category of a fraud, but he remains innocent until the charges against him are proven.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the amount of financial abuse is enormous, while the victims who dealt with the Ronaldinho Foundation demand a huge compensation of $ 61.2 million, while imprisonment remains the biggest nightmare facing the Barcelona magician and the former Brazil national team.
It is worth noting that Ronaldinho left prison years ago for his involvement in forging a Paraguayan passport to enter the capital, Asuncion, and he was with his brother before the security forces arrested him.
