A 51-year-old man, unfavorably known to justice, was shot dead overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in Poggio Mezzana (Haute-Corse), in the parking lot of a restaurant in which “he had interests”, according to the prosecutor of Bastia.
The facts occurred around 1 a.m. Thursday: the victim was hit by gunfire in the parking lot of the La Caravelle restaurant, an establishment in which “he had interests”, said the public prosecutor by Bastia Arnaud Viornery.
According to the magistrate, this man was also the manager of several active companies, particularly in the real estate sector. He was unfavorably known to justice, “both for facts of common law and facts of financial crime”, added the prosecutor of Bastia.
An investigation was opened and entrusted to the research section of the Corsican gendarmerie, in co-referral with the judicial police.
