Scientifically, the new mutant is a branch of “Omicron” from the Corona family, or the virus that has disturbed people’s comfort for two years, and has reappeared today in a different way, in light of the continuing controversy regarding the extent of the effectiveness of vaccines in eliminating Corona or not, and amid the contradiction between the opinions of scientists. The truth about the virus and whether it is a factory or a natural virus.

There is no Lyris
And the Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Abyad, said yesterday, after a meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, that there is an increase in the number of injuries, indicating that this matter is usually witnessed during the summer season. Al-Abyadh said that the ministry is monitoring cases in and outside hospitals, but the situation in hospitals is under control. Al-Abyadh indicated that there are very few cases that require intensive care, which necessitates the need to follow preventive measures again, stressing that the Ministry of Health will inform citizens of any new information on this matter.
And while Al-Abyadh did not mention the new mutant, but he confirmed earlier that there were no recorded cases of “Iris” in Lebanon, and the head of the epidemiological surveillance program at the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Nada Ghosn, previously revealed that “the ministry is conducting genetic examinations continuously.” To determine the Corona mutants present in Lebanon, at the National Influenza Center at Rafic Hariri University Hospital.So far, these tests have not shown the presence of the EG5 mutant known as “Iris”.

Contradiction
On the other hand, some information and doctors reported the existence of unannounced cases of the new variant in more than one Lebanese region, in a very limited way, which was confirmed by the head of the Lebanese Medical and Social Assembly, Professor Raef Reda, who announced in a statement that “cases of the Iris virus or EG5 are present in Lebanon.” , but it is not diagnosed, and that the regular pcr examination cannot diagnose its type, but only indicates that it is proven and needs to examine the genetic sequence to detect it.

Fifth spread
The Iris or EG5 mutant began to spread in the Arab countries, and Egypt recorded infections with the new variant of the Corona virus, to join a group of countries that exceeded sixty, which increased the fear among some countries of the re-spread of the virus, including Lebanon, which is still recording Pomicron infections, although Although the virus is no longer as dangerous as it used to be.
A specialist in kidney diseases and blood pressure, Dr. Nidal al-Mawla, explains that the symptoms of Iris are very similar to influenza and respiratory diseases, and he talks about the course of Corona from the danger stage until the fifth spread with the omicron wave.
Al-Mawla says in an interview with “Lebanon 24” that “from the beginning of Corona until the last mutant of the day, which is the micron, we noticed a period of calm at the level of mutations, until the World Health Organization announced that it had closed the Corona file forever, and later retracted its decision while continuing to confirm that the stage of The danger has disappeared, after Corona turned into a seasonal flu-like one.
According to al-Mawla, the issue that causes concern is what is reported from time to time about the possibility of the emergence of deadly and dangerous viruses, and this is what actually happens again without us getting answers from the World Health Organization in this regard. And he continues: “A while ago, we began to hear about Iris and warnings from him, and unfortunately today this mutant has become widespread in more than 60 countries. According to the information, this mutant is a mutation of corona mutations of the Omicron family specifically, and we all know that Omicron is rapidly spreading, but its symptoms are mild and the death rate is high.” It is low, affects the upper system, not the respiratory system, and requires a period of quarantine that does not exceed four days.”

Climate changes
As for “Iris,” Mawla says: “As in the case of ordinary flu, after the unexpected change in the climate and the high temperature, the world awaits after that many epidemics and viruses, as we know that the climate is naturally hot or cold, and a great change occurs in it, which is reflected in nature.” And thus on the human organ system. And he continues: “As for the new mutant, which also received a Latin name, it did not gain much momentum compared to Corona in the initial stage, and later the vaccines stage, especially in light of the continuing conflict of opinions among scientists whether vaccines are beneficial or not. Here we say scientifically that it can be translated The matter is easy, because the body and with the fifth stage of Corona, i.e. the omicron stage, the immune system in it began to recognize mutants.That is, our bodies recognized the virus that was very dangerous and later became weak.Thus we tell people that there is really no need for panic, if Iris spreads in Lebanon or Any second surge will be like the seasonal flu, and I say that we will also witness in the coming fall and winter a new surge, which is expected with the start of schools, as the transmission process becomes much faster, and people must prepare for the next stage.
Therefore, today and with the tourist season, it is very natural that there is an increase in numbers, but there is nothing new except for the same symptoms similar to Omicron, such as nasal allergy, coughing, gonorrhea, diarrhea, general weakness, high temperature, in addition to muscle fatigue, which in the event of infection does not require more than 4 days in quarantine.

Strange virus
Al-Mawla concludes: “The body has recognized Corona, and therefore what is required of people is prevention first and foremost in seasons that witness friction and contact between people, such as summer and the season of returning to schools. There is no need for terror because fear leads to a weakening of the human body’s immunity, and this is what we never want.”
As for the statements of some doctors that say that the new mutant cannot be identified through the PCR tests in Lebanon, Al-Mawla says: “Simply, if we did a PCR test and it did not turn out to be Iris, the result would give the presence of a strange virus, and we can understand that it is the new mutation of Omicron.” Therefore, there is no need for all this media intimidation.
