God’s Soldiers Surround Beirut Cafe Protesting Homosexual Presence – Lebanese Security Forces Intervene

Al-Hurra correspondent reported, on Wednesday, that a group of young men calling themselves “God’s Soldiers” surrounded a cafe in the capital, Beirut, and threatened to storm it in protest against the presence of homosexuals inside the cafe, according to their saying.

The reporter added that a patrol of the Lebanese security forces arrived at the “madam Om” café on “Mar Mikhael” street, and that the patrons left the place.

Activists on social media posted videos attached to comments about the incident.

The “Soldiers of God” is an extremist Christian group that began, according to Lebanese news websites, in the form of self-security groups for Christian areas in Beirut, and then began to hold armed parades.

The group has previous anti-gay activities, which raised different attitudes among the Lebanese.
