jpnn.com – Astronomers in Spain found galaxy new. Surprisingly, the galaxy is within a galaxy.

The discovery was the result of observing photos of the galaxy Sombrero Hubble Space Telescope shot.

The existence of galaxies within the Sombrero Galaxy has been published via arXiv, an open archive of recent academic articles.

The astronomer takes a close look at the most interesting neighboring galaxies in the Virgo Supercluster. It is also in this supercluster that the Milky Way is located.

The Sombrero Galaxy -also known as Messier 104 or NGC 4594- is a galaxy 31 light years away between Virgo and the constellation Corvus.

Messier 104 is the most massive celestial body in the Virgo Cluster. Its mass is estimated to be equivalent to 800 billion suns.

In addition, Sombrero is also classified as an odd galaxy due to its unusual shape, composition and size.

The two things that stand out about the Galaxy Sombrero are its very bright central core and the giant dust that surrounds it. That’s what makes the galaxy like a sombrero, a Mexican wide-brimmed hat.

Since its discovery in 1781, the Sombrero Galaxy has been the object of research by astronomers. This galaxy is special because it has a number of circular clusters which are concentrations of gravitationally bound stars.

According to Elio Quiroga Rodriguez, astronomer at Mid Atlantic University in Spain, the strange object was previously thought to be a globular cluster (which has been cataloged into the Pan-STARRS1 data archive as PSO J190.0326-11.6132).

However, there could be something else, namely an entirely separate galaxy that could have an active galactic nucleus (AGN) at its center.(JPost/jpnn.com)
