Chennai: Assistant Professor of Madras Medical College committed suicide by dripping blood. The incident happened in Alwarpet near Chennai. Surgical gastroenterology expert Dr. U Karthi (42) committed suicide. Karti joined the Rajiv Gandhi Government Medical College as an assistant professor six months ago. He lived alone in an apartment owned by a relative. He worked in a government hospital in Chengalpet during the Covid-19 pandemic. In the meantime, he was infected with Kovid three times.
Karthi is the son of Ulakanathan and Kasturi, a doctor in Puducherry. Sister Deepa is a doctor in the US. Karthi is the one who even gave up marriage to give more importance to work. He used to talk to his sister Deepa on the phone every day. Deepa informed her father Ulakanathan in Puducherry after not being able to reach her on the phone for two consecutive days. The father also kept calling the phone but there was no response. Then according to Deepa’s friend Dr. When he went to the house where Srividya Karthi was staying, he found the door open. Srividya also said that there was a strong smell inside the house. He was lying dead on the chair bleeding. The body had started to rot.
According to Srividya, Thenampet police reached the spot and shifted the body to the hospital. Karthi’s death was caused by drips in both hands. The police said that it is possible that the death took place on August 19. ‘My life ended very well. A suicide note written ‘No one is responsible for my death’ was also found nearby. Police registered a case of unnatural death and started investigation.
