Remedy Entertainment during Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2023 presented another gameplay trailer for the sequel to Alan Wake. The developers dedicated the new video to the gloomy and merciless world of nightmares, where the writer Alan Wake was imprisoned. To escape from the dungeon, the main character will have to complete his novel and not lose his remaining sanity.
It is noteworthy that in the published trailer, the developers of the game combined footage of the gameplay and scenes with live actors. As explained in Remedy, this is due to the fact that during the passage of Alan Wake 2, players will periodically see cinematic inserts.
Alan Wake 2 promises to give players a scarier and more mystical world that was inspired by cult series like Silent Hill and Resident Evil. The plot of the sequel will unfold around two main characters at once. Players will be able to explore the world of nightmares in the role of writer Alan Wake, who is already familiar from the first part. Mystical events in the real world will be investigated already in the role of an FBI agent – Saga Anderson. Together they will have to overcome the world of horrors and write their own ending to their story.
The release of Alan Wake 2 will take place at the end of October – on the 22nd, the dark thriller will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.
