Carel Eiting has lost the arbitration case he initiated against FC Volendam. The independent arbitration committee at the KNVB rejects all demands of the Amsterdammer. They judge that the team from Volendam never had the chance to negotiate ‘normally’ about the amount of the transfer fee and do not have to cooperate with a transfer to FC Twente, which offered 500,000 euros.
The midfielder initiated the urgent arbitration case because he had set his sights on a transfer to FC Twente, which the club from the fishing village did not cooperate with. In the meantime, they extended Eiting’s contract by one year.
Eiting filed the case because he assumed that he could still leave for a limited transfer fee, but has therefore not won. Eiting is fixed until 2025 and interested clubs must make a maximum effort to reach a transfer fee that is acceptable to both parties. Twente already offered five hundred thousand euros for the arbitration case, but will now have to dig a lot deeper into its pockets to incorporate it.
FC Volendam regrets that Eiting has initiated this arbitration case.
