When Activision unveiled their event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III last week, they showed a glimpse of the game’s single-player campaign and confirmed that those who pre-ordered the game would get early access to the then-undated public beta. Now is the time to learn more about these two things.
Geoff Keighley continued the tradition of showing off the next Call of Duty gameplay at Gamescom, so tonight’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III video includes gameplay from the game’s first mission, Operation 627. As it turns out, this is a mission heavily inspired by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s gulag, so it starts off pretty stealthy before things get really loud.
Afterwards, Keighley revealed that we’ll learn more about the game when Call of Duty: Next takes place on October 5. We also finally confirmed that PlayStation players will be able to test multiplayer during the first public beta from October 8th to 10th (Early Access starts on October 6th). PC and Xbox owners will then be able to join the open beta a week later, from October 14-16 (early access begins on October 12 with all PlayStation owners).
